WASHINGTON—According to media reports, more than 9,000 U.S. soldiers have deserted since the aggression against Iraq began, a situation that has intensified recently. Four hundred of the deserters crossed the country’s northern border in recent days and are trying to obtain political refugee status in Canada, PL reports.
